Apple has taken a leap to iOS 26 with a slew of exciting features, starting with the innovative Liquid Glass design set to revamp the iPhone’s home and lock screens. This aesthetic overhaul brings a translucent material concept to apps and widgets, promising a fresh look and feel to Apple’s upcoming operating systems.
The new iOS version comes with a range of enhancements, including a redesigned Phone app with the Hold Assist feature to save you from elevator music during calls, as well as Live Translation capabilities in Phone, FaceTime, and Messages for seamless multilingual conversations. Group chats will now feature polls for easier decision-making, and an improved filtering system for unknown senders in Messages.
Visual Intelligence is introduced as a new feature that enables users to search for items displayed on their iPhone screens, similar to a reverse image search. Struggling with the current Photos app layout? Not to worry, as the tabs are making a comeback with separate spaces for Library and Collections, ensuring easier access to your memories.
Although some older iPhone models won’t support the iOS 26 update, newer models released from 2019 onwards, including the iPhone 13 series and upcoming iPhone 14 and 15 models, will be compatible. The iOS 26 public beta is set to launch in July through the Apple Beta Software Program, giving users the chance to explore the latest features before the final release in the fall, typically around September.
